My dad is giving me his old 89 ranger with 60k original miles on it. The windshield is cracked and will not pass inspection. ABC auto glass said the would do it for $170 but i want to buy the glass and install it myself. Other than the glass and the seal what else would i need? Glue any special tools?
Once i get the windshield replace all thats left is registration and inspection stickers then insurance and ill have a single cab 4 banger 2wd standard work truck.

I think.. you may find it better to have him do it for $170, thats a dirt cheap price, when considering newer vehicles nowadays run standard $400 and up. Replacing a windshield isnt any chidls job, and definatly takes at least 2 peopel to do it, along with all the fine work of prepping eerything.. I woudl honestly just pay for them to do it profesionally with a warranty.
