Wireless keypad

I bought one from Ford and put it on my Mazda B4000 2007. I programmed it no problems. I started up my truck, locked the doors with the keys inside and when I tried to get back in with the keypad I could not unlock the doors. The keypad works when the truck is not running. Is this normal?

1) medic: yes, it's normal. your key fob won't lock/unlock the doors when the truck is running, either.

2) S1att3r: you can program in your own code and "marry" it to your truck just like a key fob.

I have one on my 2007 Ranger that I bought through Wayne and I can start my truck lock the doors leave the truck run and come back put my code in and open the doors. I have also locked my doors and used my 2nd key fob to get into my truck while its running on cold days as well. So you should be able to open the doors if the truck is running.

S1att3r: A Ford Dealer should be able to help you reset the password for the keypad. On the instructions that came with mine which are in the owners manual of the truck right now is a phone number you can call and they should help you with it as well if I find it later I will let you know what the number is.

I can unlock the doors with the remote but not the keypad. It works fine but I'll try to see if I forgot something.
