sorry boss but this truck don't go to the mall or pick up any of those stuck up chicks for lack of a better term. it performs just fine at the mudd hole so i din't see the problem yall talk of. i've always heard not to put blocks an a steer axle but hell even my mini wheeler thri axle dump truck has 2'' blocks on it factory. i've chewed up the ring and pinion so aparently there is other weak links on my "rig" besides the blocks.

Yeah, Dana 30's with 44's and front blocks are all fine. I hear that kind of stuff all the time around here (yes, I understand that's supposed to be a 44 under there, but the 30 argument is always around here).

No matter how much you tell me it ran through the mud, that is weaker. No track bar is weaker than with. The steering is more prone to problems, etc. etc. etc.

We know that chicks digging a truck is a MAJOR measure of it's solidity, so I guess I shouldn't argue with the experts here.

But the reality is:

Small axles, big tires: BAD

Front blocks: BAD

No lateral bracing in front: BAD

And no matter how y'all argue it, no matter how many chicks dig it or how many mudholes you managed to get through -- it's still a bad idea and you could do it better.

You can argue, "I'm doing it that way for now because I can't afford to do it right" and that's okay.

But to say it IS right? You're wrong and you're steering others wrong.

Y'all ought to be ashamed of yourselves, lol. I thought you guys were a lot smarter than this and I'm disappointed that you justify rather than simply say, "hey it's bad but I don't care". You did it wrong, be a real man and admit it.

I didn't infer you were poor, lol -- I said you and others were WRONG that front blocks are good, and no track bar is good or whatever other rot you and others were spouting.

Don't be sensitive here: it's not personal -- all those things are just wrong. People can be confused an misled by that macho crap about "it don't matter if it ain't right -- right don't matter if chicks dig it, whoo hoo!" -- right is right, and wrong is wrong. Period.

i didnt say they were right either- i was just tryin to say if he kept and eye on them, they'd be fine for right now or how ever long.. stick some trac bar's on there and it'd be good.. as far as steering goes- as far as im concered as long as it turn's your good.. lol, but then again most people dont see it that way.. im sure every truck on here could be done better, even ur's john.. lol.. but in the end- every truck wil be differnt be it scary, bad, good, or whatever, but god.. when i do mine.. **** ill make sure my steering is STRAIGHT so i dont get.......... BTW andy, no one asked for ur rabble.. hahaha

hes got a track bar on there. you dont need one in the rear on a leaf sprung rear. he bought the truck , with the blocks up front, so the pity should go to the seller. Though he "should" change them, and run a larger lift spring, its his truck, let him do as he pleases. Its not terribly unsafe to drive it on the street with them, but it is frowned upon.

this is the reason why we lose such good members, everyones got to join in and post their opinions, when they are sometimes unneeded or uncalled for. Yes its been bashed timed and time again, but people build things different, and they shouldnt be demoralized becuase they do so. We all know the internet is not the best place to decifer the tone or view that someone is trying to get across, so taking a defensive stand point is usually the first reaction.

I think that is the problem though and why there is such a debate about it, because the argument is futile.

For example, lets put this in a retro-spective argument.

I could argue that using rubber for tires is dangerous because they can puncture and blow out, causing one to lose control, roll/flip and die. And this has been proven to happen.

Its basically the same argument being made for the steering links.

Or

All vehicles should have 2" DOM Chromoly tubing 1/4" thick as an exo-skeleton because the car may be in a wreck, crumple, and kill the passenger(s). It won't happen though just because a car has a chance of total loss.

Its just pointless point to argue.

Its obviously been proven and DOM approved to use bent or radius'd bars in a stock on road vehicle, of which is put through testing to ensure its reliability and safety. Taking the piece from one vehicle to another does not instantly make it weak or wrong.

Look at it this way. The frames on our trucks are not straight,... wouldn't a straight frame be better for strength? Or how about I-beam suspensions? The beams are not straight, I would think that would be worse than haveing a steering rod not perfectly straight.

Maybe I don't see the point in repeatedly saying that having a bent or radius'd bar is bad, when there are other factors, parts, people, machines, etc that should be focused on and fixed first.

superduke axles are not to known for strength, or being unproblematic.

I agree with the breaking. It's a damn 60 though and not a 30 or 44. hate seeing that mix-up. Anywho he takes that thing to the mudpits so deep mud, lots of torque, big tires, maybe stock axle, ya that thing will bust. The blocks are scary i agree but it's just like anything else, it can fail but if it hasn't so far then good and when it does it can be fixed hopefully.

Whine-o-meter in this thread is at 8 right now

wow blocks on the front. A friend of mine thought that was a good idea also. That is until he hit the brakes really hard, the front axel came off and ended up next to the rear axel. FRONT BLOCKS are bad they WILL break maybe not today maybe not tommarrow but someday. Thank you lol
