Estimate: Prerunner style guard.

So, I really want to get a guard/bumper like this rather quickly.

It seems rather simple, but not a lot is as it seems! How much do you think something like that would run for my truck? Better off, is there anyone on this forum who knows how to build these in/around Michigan that would?!

PM me or post here with any help. Thanks.

My guess would be 200 bucks. If you've got the tools to do it, it's not too hard. The proper tools would be very expensive though!

For something like that you are looking between 400-900 dollars... It may look simple but they are very labor intensive.

Look at my bumper. It took 13 hours to design and build from start to finish. Now figure a professional shop can do it in half the time, say 6 hours. Even at a modest $80/hour labor rate you're looking at $480 in just labor, then you have steel at $2-7/ft depending on what size/type and a bumper like that will use about 20-30ft so figure you need two 20ft sticks, so ~$160 for steel, then consumables like welding gas and wire... yea.. custom metal work is expensive.

Of course there are people that do it cheaper, and those that do it for more, but you get the idea.

if youre lookin for quotes from a shop, i wouldnt hold your breath waitin for a 6hr quote. not with a custom one off piece. maybe if they have one already designed that you like. if i had taken good notes and had the time to mess with it, i could probly build another identical to mine in 6hrs.
as a reference, our shop charges $75/hr for custom work, and we dont do any work on street vehicles. shops that do work on street vehicles generally charge more jus for the extra hassle.
