thanks guys! Yeah I'd love to have a winch in it, But I decided to just do front and back receivers and get a 2" receiver winch mount. That way while I still DD my truck I don't have to worry about trying to keep it clean from road salt etc. When it becomes strictly a toy I'm sure I'll put a winch in and have a much smaller crossmember bumper of sorts.

me too....
I might, But I think I'm going to make some sliders out of the same stuff. I'll have to see though. If I dont have enough I can tally up the metal we would need easily, I'll keep it written down It wouldnt be too much to buy I dont think.

That would be awesome. I would like to leave the hole in it thought to access the stock tow hooks and my receiver. Im sure it would be too hard to modify your plans.

yeah that would be easy enough to do.

I got a little more work done today and then I took a break and went biking with a few people. I got the ends all capped and fully welded and started on welding the seams. Tomorrow I'm going to get it welded up and primered, and also add some temp mounts to the frame so I can get it on and not have to roll around bumperless this week.(I cant throw on my stocker cause I snapped off two of the studs on the BL bumper brackets heh)

I will put on my shackle mounts, 2" reciever and the real mounts on over the weekend. As long as I can get my shackle mounts here by then.

Got a little work done today, It was cut short by some thunderstorms that decided to roll in. Got the primer on my bare metal just before it hit. I was just in the middle of getting my mounts figured out, so i should be able to get the bumper on the next time I can work on it. Should be able to after work tomorrow(new job woot) as long as it doesnt rain on me.

Just got a few pics of the frame horns chopped and 45'd and then boxed in. Also removed my A/C condensor to allow better air to my Rad. while I was in there. And made a new crossmember. I 45'd the frame so It will look much better when the bumper is on because you will see just the bottom of them. I also had to leave a decent amount remaining so I have enough room for the leaf hangar/crossmember I'll build when I sas.

enough talk onto pics..I forgot to take more of the finshed off bumper besides mounts and shackle tabs

Looks great. Only thing I might change is the side pieces, maybe cut a slight angle that tapers back instead of just a rectangular look on the side of the bumper. I think it would tie it in a bit better on the side of the truck maybe. How much do you think it weighs?

I did, that was before I cut and angle in it. its now 2" down and 4" in at an angle. not sure on weight yet, got lots of metal to go on still

Didn't get as much done today as I hoped for. Got home late and the damn rain came again and ran out of gas. But I started all my grinding and only have a little more welding to do and drill my holes for my hardware. Picked up my grade 8 bolts for it so I'm set there. Got the mounts all figured out today so as soon as I get gas and have time it will be on the truck.still waiting on my shackle mounts though.

The most expensive part of the bumper..

Used some 3/8 Angle for the monts on the frame and to the bumper. Had to shim the outsides with 1/8 plate to offset the lap in the top of the frame. The angle on the bumper will lap over the angle on the truck, and the bolts will go through them. I will still add some braces down to the frame from the sides of the bumper as well

Just a couple pics of the bumper in a semi/finshed form on the truck. It will look better when I get the top finshed off towards the truck. it will cover the gap thats there. I have tons of room behind the bumper, I still have been thinking about putting a winch behind it and put a nice fairlead on the front of the bumper. but I dont know, maybe later on.

yeah I havnt had AC in a couple years, but I dont miss it that much. So I wanted to take out the pointless AC unit in front of the Rad.

Got the bumper on the truck now, just partly primerd and not all the way finished. Did so so I could have a bumper on my truck for going to work. Taking the chance everyday of getn pulled over wasnt too good. I dont need any more reason to get pulled over than I already do heh.

I'm gona take pics tomorrow after work, Finsh it when I get gas monday

Haha yeah Aaron they didnt give a **** about you here at all.

Yeah the mounts turned out great, it allows me to not have to even hold the bumper up to put th bolts in. It just rests on the truck by itself and makes it really easy to put on the hardware and take it off etc.

teaser pic!!!111 Its a tad higher on the pass. side. I guess thats what I get for putting it on in the dark. I'll ajust it later.
