If you used polyurethane bushings and they are squeaking then you need more of the silicone lube.

Ill have to throw some lube in there then while i got the bed off. I was able to finagle the gas strap into the crossmember by shaving it down. the opening for the new crossmember was not the same as the old and im not sure if it will hold but we will see. was able to get everything back together and now im just waiting to go get paint for the bed and to finish off painting the frame. I decided to not go as crazy as planned on repainting the frame.

in the process of wiggling and prying the crossmember into place. my father hit my back window and shattered it.

If you need to just get it done Rustoleum will do the job, but if you are keeping the truck for a while, I'd plan in the future to hit it with some POR15.

I also broke my back window when doing my frame. I didn't mind too much since I wanted a slider anyway. One tip - when searching Ebay, look up 'back glass'. I had trouble finding cheap replacement calling it anything else.

hey thanks, yea i dont mind too much that he broke it since hes buying me a new one. besides it was leaking anyways so its a plus for me lol. and ya i know rustoleum isnt the best but its already old and i just keep throwing money at it and its coming to the point where the line needs to be drawn and i need to start saving for a new vehicle. Id keep it of course since the dealers would never give me near what its worth. i went a few months ago and had 3 differ places tell me 500 bucks max. umm ok, my intake and exhaust is worth more than that alone. so ill keep it as a fun toy and drive my car to work and school.

but ya i dont want it to rust much further. surprisingly the spare tire mount is not in bad shape. only thing rusting thru was the spring hangers, shackles, crossmemer and the end of the frame.

question is now...do i want 3 panel sliding rear window or 4 panel. not sure which would be better to have.
