I think the GM version is a bit different. Also if you get one from an SC it needs to be the older ones with an oval intake port. I got mine from a U pick U save for $60 but I sold it.

Yeah. Good luck getting a tune for it though. You might just have to pay someone to actually throw it on a dyno and tune it with a wideband O2 sensor.

Yeah i think i found one place that would do the tune for me.. but i am sure its not cheap.. but i think supercharging a ranger for 2k is pretty cheap in my opinion..

except like you said.. the tranny cant do it..

If I had an auto then I probably would have installed the blower.

No pump to move the fluid like an auto. It's just a weak tranny. You can probably tear down the tranny and have the gears treated but that would cost a lot.

So I just remembered that D is 2wd. Duh!!! Throw the blower on and just be careful. No powershifting and make sure your gear is in before stomping on the throttle. Also no 4wd launches.

T5 is worth looking into. They are tough transmission. TRS has info on swapping one onto a stock motor.

I think the stock 5 speed would hold up ok with the right driver behind the wheel.

I am tempted to sell my blower, only because its no longer a DD and I want 8 cylinders.
