I haven't had braking issues with mine, I don't know. The truck actually stops very well even with 35s.
Mostly the dust pisses me off, it is unreal how much of a mess they make. The rotors are also rusty and have quite a lip on them, causing a little squeal occasionally when I'm moving slowly and not on the brakes. My mechanic re-surfaces the rear discs and put on some cheapo pads (without permission) and there is a little less noise but I want to replace everything with new before long.
I would bet that the newer brakes wouldn't be a huge deal to swap. But judging from the clearance I have, there is no way I could fit 17s (which I would like) with brakes that are even a hair bigger than mine.

I looked into doing a 6-piston 15" AP Racing big brake kit on mine and learned that pretty much anything 15" or larger would need a 20" wheel, or an 18" wheel with enough backspacing to clear the calipers with the spokes. I could fit the big brake kit if I would have ran a small spacer. Ultimately though I went with the EBC stuff, for now, as you can see. Keeps my options open to move to 17's too, if I ever choose.
Ditto.
