Solo ride in Dad's Cougar

1969 Mercury Cougar Brand New 427 Crate Engine with Built AOD. For the record, wasn't even at 3/4 throttle.

What adapter or bell housing did he use to get a AOD to bolt up to a FE block? And that AOD must be pretty beefed up to handle the torque from that 427 monster lol.

I have no idea of the adapter, I just know he bought it from Monster Transmissions in Brooksville, FL. They really beefed it up big time to handle the 550+ft lbs of torque!

Nice! I like the car man. I alwas had a little soft spot for older Courgars. They're like a Torino but prettier! But thanks for the info, I'll research that transmission builder and see what they offer.
