My Truck Is Totalled!!!

So I go down to the community college and park my truck at 7a. I go back to my truck around 10 to have a smoke quick before I gotta go back in. I go back in and come out an hour later. I come back and find my truck destroyed. Apparently a couple minutes after I walked in the building my optima battery exploded and flames started shotting out of the hood. She's totalled. Anyone need parts? I'll have pics up as soon as they upload to photobucket. *Sigh* I'm f*cked. I know the insurance company insn't going to give me enough money to buy another 03 fx4 with less that 30k miles. Mine had 28,3XX. I might buy it back and put a 302 in it. I don't know. It needs ALOT of work. Let me know you guy's thoughts. I know some of you have been here before. It's sitting in my driveway now so I can strip it. The ins company is going to pick it up tomorrow or thursday. Please help!

The damn firefighters tryed to break my window to pop the hood and f*ckin missed and put a damn hole in the door, then one of the fat a$$es broke my seat rifling through my paperwork. No one came to notify me. Like I said, I was gone for an hour. When I came back the truck was completely cold w/caution tape all around it and pieces of my hood and glass in the bed. I'm f*ckin freakin out right now!!!.

holey crap man! I've never really heard of batteries exploding. Good luck with the insurance company and hopefully you'll fix it up or get another sweet truck.

Esurance wants me to send them pics. It only has to be 60% of the total value to total it right? well it's an 03 xlt fx4 with 28k however much that is worth. I owe about 8k on it yet so......

I think you need to think about taking this to Optima, there' absolutely no reason your battery should explode and it's obvious that it all started from the battery

Really... Show them the pics and let them settle something or tell them you'll post them all over the web blasting them (if that's legal )

The optima was in my truck for nine months with no problems. The last time I touched me battery was to add the two grounds and a posi for my efan. That was two weeks ago. I was just under the hood yesterday checking belts and fluids and whatnot. The battery seemed fine. The posi's were no where near anything grounded. The battery wasn't hot and no sign of charging failure from the dummy gauge. I'm dumb-founded. I almost wanna cry and then torch my truck the rest of the way....

Yeah you need to have a good long talk with optima about this! I'm sure your insurance company would even help you out since Optima should be footing the bill for this, not your insurance company! That is crazy man, I don't even know what to say. It makes me reconsider buying that red-top I was going to pick up.

Alright he emailed me all kinds fo fire disclosure forms saying I sware I didn't do it intentionally, I emailed him pics of the damage. Now he's not picking up his phone. He's suppose to be in his office for another hour and a half. I tryed calling his supervisor and she left a half hour ago. I'm about to get in touch with optima. I'm gonna be really pissed here if this bozo doesn't call me back asap. I called his extension ten times now and left two voicemails.

Stone, everything plastic in the engine compartment is melted. P/s, brakes, coolant and washer fluid containers, hundreds if not thousands of bare wires. Hood, fender, sub header panel, grille shell, dr headlight, dr corner are all f*cked. Windshield trim is melted, paint on cowl box is fukt. Not to mention all the aftermarket stuff. Efan, piaa harness, piaa ballast, amp wiring, snorkel. I'm ready to flip out.
