i dont mean to jack this, but while were here, i have a q or 2 about my diff's.. i was always under the impression i had 4.10s in the rear diff... but

http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/roadtes...on/index7.html

tested a 99 4.0 4x4 and their diffs had 3.73 gears..how the hell do i know?!

AXLES
Front Type: IFS <<agree>>
Rear Type:[/B] Solid axle Dana 35 <<d35 in back??>>
Hubs: Automatic (pulse vacuum hublock) <<agree>>
Ratio 3.73:1 <<WTF>>

i was also under the impression that the D35 was up front?? im so damn cofused and to everyone else i probably look like a complete dumbass... or did the site screw up?

help me out please, i need to know if i need 4.10 gears or if i shud go to 4.56 haha

Thanks
-Matt

Not sure about the 99's front end but you can get your gearing from the axle tag.

Well, my truck as been deemed a total loss by my insurance company. I'm in the process of removing the bolt ons. It's definitely being totalled, I might buy it back if I can get it for less than $2k-$3k.

I sell the axle parts and it's going as one big part lol. Not picking it apart.

Now that sucks!!!

I see you had an efan.....any amps or other aftermarket wiring you did to the Ranger? I've never seen a battery explode and catch fire before. There must have been something to start the fire.

Ah well, hope you get some $$$ for it. Hopefully you get another Ranger too.

I'd love to buy that yellow edge. Unfortunately, I won't see the check for another few weeks. I'd hate to take out a loan and have to pay back a buttload of interest when I can wait and just pay cash. What parts did you wanna swap man? I'm def gonna buy it back for $2k, not sure if it's much higher than that. I figured out that after I factor in the missing bumpers and running boards the value is around 19k-20k. I have about two grand in reciepts for stuff that was either destroyed or can not be removed from the truck. I started strippng it today. The gate valve from the snorkel box mod was about the only thing salvagable under the hood. I finished with tearing out everything in the rear. I got those guards off the taillights with all the mounts. Scratched the niteshade a bit, but who cares? lol I gotta take off my rear bumper tomorrow. I'm going to leave the front bumper on until they're done with the inspection. They said leave it on since "My lights are on the bar" and I guess there's a little bit a electric tape, that I wrapped the wiring in, melted. Whatever. Gonna rip off my explorer rear dif cover and replace with stock. Put my junk rotors back on and take my good rotors and pads off =]. I gotta undo the abs mod =\. Couple other lil things and I'll be set. I'm not sure if all the stuff I've taken off my truck would fit in a flareside bed. I don't know how I hid most of the stuff lol. I musta had my truck hella wighted down. I put most of the stuff I removed in my toolchest. I can't even lift that sucker now. I had to have my dad grab one side of it and he was straining.

*sigh* Everytime I see my truck, it's still like the first time I found it like that in the community college parking lot. =[

Karpe, the yellow top is 27 months old. Three months out of warranty, I couldn't be a smart *** if I tryed =]. Sears would be like "WTF is that?! Get it off the counter NOW!". I haven't messed with it but it looks like if you tryed to lift each up each lil cylinder would break away. There's piles of puddled metal on the tops of them. It must have been hot, stuff on the opposite end of the engine compartment melted and there are no signs of fire in those areas.

Good luck on getting what you want for it! I would hate to have to take the toys off my truck, they are kinda a pain.

I'd love to swap the center console and maybe the tailgate if that was possible. My tailgate is bent right by the handle and won't open well. My center console broke on the 1 bracket which i can probably fix but have been too lazy. You keepin the niteshade tails and guards?

The front bumper you have... How much did it cost? I'd like to have something like that made just a little bit different.

Rear bumper I made a week ago =[. The front bumper I bought from Doc. It could be made for around $500.

Well the entire truck is gutted. Only things left to do are remove front bumper and swap my new rotors and pads for the old ones. I'll post some pics of the gutted interior tomorrow after the forensic guys leave. Took me ten months to build up this truck and about ten hours to tear it all out. I had bundles of wire when I was done. Alot of it was salvageable. Only thing I removed from the engne compartment was my gate valve to seal the airbox. Next ranger will be hybrid snorkel equipped as well =]. That was the main component, the rest is pvc, sealant, and labor.

Here's some pics of my truck all gutted. Only thing left is the front bumper. I left it on to humor the investigators. It has my PIAA's and wiring so I figured better safe than sorry. Damn impound yard stole my truck and wrote all over it. F*ckers. Not that it matters but damn.

lol, That five day fix-it ticket is the least of my worries. I went to the police station and was like "Yeah so my truck is totalled so don't worry about that ticket." haha The officer looked at me and went "that sucks, that was a sweet truck". I was thinking "So why'd you write the ticket a$$?!", aww man.
