Syphoning gas?
Syphoning gas?
Maybe this is in the "How to break in my ranger" scheme of things but....
I've got 3/4 of a tank of gas in my burned out truck. Are there any one way gates or anti syphon devices in the fill tube? I just wanna gt that out of there w/o messing anything up. I'm sure I can sell the gas tank so I'm not keen on cutting into it. I'd have to remove the skid plate anyway. Any hints/experiences on this matter? PM me if there's some kind of secret trick.

goto like.. autozone and get a syphoning thing.. it has a pump i think..
when i worked at a truckstop speedway we had em.
ORR... you can get a piece of hose.. and suck on it till you get gas in the end (make sure you dont get it in your mouth..) then put a can under it and let it go..

disconect the line in the engine bay or at the fuel filter. find the fuel pump wiring harness jump the main 12+ to keep the pump running and drain that sucker, thats what i did to my escort

If you can't syphon it normally, see if you can disconnect hose where you fill the tank. That might bypass an obstruction if there are any. Or if you could remove the fuel pump to gain access but i don't know if that would be practical/possible to do.
If you can find the fuel pump fuse then just supply voltage from a battery or another vehicle via a jumper wire to the feed side of the fuse. That will make it easier then trying to find the wiring for the pump.
Not to hijack the thread but....
At work we have an abandoned car that has been sitting there for over 7 months. I've called the cops and it isn't a stolen car and they have no interest in checking it out. If we want to get rid of it we have to pay a tow company, and since we have so many parking spaces it just sits there.
Anyways, does anyone know how I can force open the gas door (it has the release switch by the driver seat)?

^^ pull on it? My probe had a release handle and sometimes it didnt work, you just have to stick a key in the side and pry...
Anyways, i think there is a 1 way valve in it, on my 03 there is anyways....It was cake to drop the tank though....just not as easy putting it back...
I would just try to stick a hose in there 1st and see if it goes in, if not do what zach said...
