I cant remove the gear shift **** from my '06 manual trans. There is no screw, and no visible way to remove it. has anyone heard of a way to remove one?

do you have the standard black shifter or the Level II chrome shifter?

If the Level II shifter I can tell you how to remove it.

Stock ***** are spline mounted, and held to the shifter arm using glue. Some folks have actually had theirs come off while driving in the summer.

FX4 L2 *****, I understand, are screwoffable. I have no clue on those though.

I'm a big proponent for a Hurst Shifter. Of couse, i'm a little biased.
