the 4x2 with tires and an intellegent driver will do quite well, but yeah i myself regret not buying a 4x4.

I'm sure that it would be fine for light off road use, but I'm hearing some "buyer's remorse". Take it back and get a 4x4, I think you'll be happier in the long run.

I've actually been thinking the same thing. My initial thought was "I can lift it, put bigger tires on, lock it.... it would be capable and get good gas mileage" Oh yeah, plus I couldn't even afford 4x4 at the time. Well, I'm getting pre-teen mileage now. Pisses me off to no end considering I am a conservative driver. I got a promotion at work (more $$$) and got a side job ($$$) so now I can actually afford more.... and hell if I could get a 4x4 that gets say 16 MPG then I would be very happy.

When I think about making my 2WD snow ready:
-Lift ($1,500)
-Bigger Tires & Rims ($1,000)
-Gears ($500)
- E-Locker ($1,000)

Or I could maybe just get a 4x4 and be set.

I don't know, I (briefly) looked this weekend for FX4 and LevelIIs around here but couldn't find any.

Anyone know how much new FX4's go for? And what about a trade in? The KBB dealer trade in shows it listed at more than I paid for it (even after all fees).

Im pretty much thinking just like you and we can get around 15k for our rangers on trade in and the fx4rs go for around 24k and the lvl2s are about 28k. all i need left is the gears and lift for my truck then just other random stuff.

Just get the Sport with the towing package and skidplate package and you'l lalmost have a level 2 unless you want the black leather...

A Level 2 is nice, if you don't really plan on modifying it, so get an XLT with above options or a Sport depending on which look you like.

^lol

true but until you see that hill that you just wish you could go climb.. but due to the articulation of ur truck its impossible with 4x2

I would assume that you'd eat alot of money by trading in your truck for another new one (but if you can get away with little/no loss then go for it)

and yeah good luck finding a LVL2 or hell even a 4x4 around here for a reasonable price... i looked =/

dont pad the 4x4's too well. an open rear like my '4x4' is more or less a glorified 2wd truck.... you really need an LS rear to make 4x4 worth while.

I am 98% going to keep this truck. Hell I called around and I can't even find a 4x4 4.0L NON-XLT truck local to me in a color I like (Red, Metallic, or White).

And I posted in that thread already that I work that Friday. Sounds like a fun place to go though.

No I go to AHS (much better) but ya its in the back near our big A and just come on over any time it rains hard because dumb blondes park there bugs on the lot and theres ruts everywhere so they get stuck instantly. Good stuff. I got flashed one time instead of gettin cash. It was awsome.
