09 Ranger TSB - Starter/Transmission

Update for you 07-09 guys. This was published March 19, 2009 but released to dealerships June 6, 2009.

FORD: 2007-2009 Ranger

Some 2007-2009 Ranger vehicles equipped with a 4.0L engine may exhibit a noisy (screech/grind) starter if the ignition key is returned too slowly to the released position upon starting. Additionally, some vehicles may exhibit a delayed engagement from Park or Neutral to Drive or Reverse.

Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 59.10 and higher or 60.02 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2009.3 DVD. Calibration files may be obtained at MOTORCRAFT PARTS FOR FORD, LINCOLN OR MERCURY VEHICLES.

Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage
IMPORTANT: Warranty coverage limits/policies are not altered by a TSB. Warranty coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part.

090606A 2007-2009 Ranger 4.0L: Reprogram The PCM (Do Not Use With 12650D) 0.3 Hr.
