16" Rims on 2007 Ranger

Anybody have any advice, experience, or recommendations on going from the stock 15" rims to 16" rims? Will I have to lift it?

Or would I be better off just going with a bigger tire?

The diameter of the rims/wheels don't matter
It's the overall diameter of the tires, and width, that matters as far as "what fits" inside the fenders

Look on the back side of drivers door, you will find a label with the tire size YOUR Ranger came with
Look up the diameter of that tire size

You can usually go 1.5" larger without an issue
So if it came with 28" you can go to 29.5"

You can go to 19" wheels with 28" diameter tires, that part is just about the "looks" YOU want

The sidewall is the part of a tire you see, wider sidewall can be a softer ride, they flex more when you hit a bump, narrower sidewalls have less flex so harder ride BUT less flex also means better cornering "feel"
Off-road is all about bumps, lol
Road racing is all about cornering, often referred to as "low profile" tires, narrow sidewalls

Any time you change tire diameter from stock diameter your speedometer/odometer will be off a bit, just FYI

I put General Grabber HTS 255 x 70 x 15 on my stock RWD 2007 Ranger. There is no rubbing even going over curbs etc. They look a lot better. Send me a PM with your email and I can send pictures.

All I know is, if you want to run 33'"or 35" tires, you're gonna need a lift
