2000 3.0 flex fuel electrical issues
2000 3.0 flex fuel electrical issues
working fine for a long time
moved it from garage since winter
had a bunch of electrical issues
seems battery and alternator as well as some sensors were corrupt
suppose its been relatively dry
cleaned grounds first, some connectors, which cleared up most issues
I am now having the difficult
p1747
743
750
755
760
1451
I suspect all the first 5 are from one connector, which seems to be in the main harness connector behind and above engine.
But more likely a ground
does anyone know where this specific harness grounds out. I simply cant find it
Kind Regards

Welcome to the forum
You should post code definitions with the codes since you probably already looked them up
The large connector on the firewall above the engine is the 104 wire Computer connector
And yes in the early 2000's moisture could get into this connector if hood gasket above it leaked, in mid-2000s a cover was installed
So best bet is to pull off this connector and look for corrosion
Your Computer(PCM) is an EEC-V 104 wire model, you can Google: Ford EEC-V pin out diagrams
EEC-IV is only 60 pin, the 1994 and earlier computers
The Ground pins will be listed so you can check each one to make sure it is a good ground, they are all grounded at different locations, because each Ground is specific to its internal ciruit
So there is no common ground for the computer.
There was also the thru cab connector under the drivers seat, it also had an issue with moisture intrusion
Google: 2000 ford ranger c309
C309 is the connector number in 2000
Key off
Good battery tests at 12.3 to 12.8volts
12.8-13v new
12.5v after 3/4 years
12.3v 5/6 years and time to shop for a battery sale
Engine running
Battery should show 14+ volts, under 15v
After running 5 minutes or so battery should show 13.5-13.8volts
Turn on all electrics, headlights, blower fan to HIGH, should still be 13.5v or higher, under that means alternator issue
