I've got a 2000 ford ranger, xlt. My breaks over the last week have been pulsating randomly. It was rough for a few days then fine, and now it's doing it again. It feel like really rough abs, but only happens randomly, most noticeably going down hills. The breaks stutter, sometimes dramatically. I tried removing the abs fuse, but that didn't change anything. Everything looks okay. Any thoughts??

 

Your front calipers could be beginning to hang up or freeze. When was the last time the breaks were serviced? Only other thing I could think of is your pads got contaminated and friction is making them hang up.
