2002 Ranger FX4 Throttle lag/delay

Has anyone seen this before? This is the most annoying thing on a stick shift. I went to the dealer and they want 100 bucks just for hooking up the computer, run some tests and then give me an estimate.

Please check out the short you tube video.

Doesn't seem to bad to me? Maybe someone else will chime in.

Is the hissing or vacuum sound normal?

I think that is normal. It may be related to emission controls. Mine has a slight lag when I am on the stock tune. When I am on one of the BAMA performance tunes, the throttle lag goes away.

Try cleaning your MAF and/or changing your fuel filter.

Thank you all for your comments. I'll try to ignore the lag and carry on then.

Doing the throttle cable mod might take away some of that lag.

That's the way my truck is, I did the throttle mod but I still get that type of lag. It doesn't bother me much....
