2003 Ranger FX4 Level II prices

Does anyone know what the value of a 2003 FX4 Level II in very good condition goes for?
Silver Frost metallic, blue inserts in interior, interior is great but the arm rest is broken. 199,000 km (123,000 niles). Truck is an automatic and needs nothing, safety inspection was just completed.

Prices vary widely by area

17 year old running Ranger, well 18 years old now, will have a base minimum value because its a special purpose vehicle, a pickup truck, which is good
Lower miles adds value
Good presentation, i.e. body and interior condition adds value
A working 4x4 adds value
And Level II adds more, but just for certain buyers

I would look at craigslist ads in cities around your area and truck trader to see what similar are selling for, those are of course "asking prices", the value to Seller, not the value to buyer, that's decided when its sold, lol

Ask at least $500-$1,000 more than you want, every buyer like to get a "deal", but you don't want to "ask" too much or buyers won't call

I don't see many Ranger for sale even in Toronto area, not sure if thats good or bad, lol
Either people keep them, so used market for a Ranger should be good
Or people can't get much for them so not worth selling, lol

Thanks. I think people hold onto them and not sell them very often here. I haven't seen a 2003 Level II for sale at all, and they can go for quite a bit. Just curious; thinking about selling it, but I do like it.

Owned it since new? "....adult, non-smoking owner..."
Manual or automatic?
Are all the skid plates present?
Add to the "desirable list" as many service records as you can.
Clean up those 15" aluminum wheels. I believe Ranger people love them.
When it's warm, hit the fender flairs with a plastic blackening liquid. Then take pictures!
Definitely advertise it on truck customizer / parts sites. Many parts catalogs have an advert section.
I paid $8,000 for the well maintained 2005 FX4 Off Road I bought from a neighbor 17 months ago. It had only 47,770 mi. (76,430km).
I shopped before and after the purchase and I feel the price was "full and fair".
Hmmm...2 more MY, almost triple the mileage; the 18 year old Bilsteins won't add a heap of value.
Maybe the same $8K? Maybe a little less?
The time-honored advice of not "Jello-ing out" on your price is effected by interest...population density...time of year
Too bad you're not selling it in California.

As already mentioned the location effects the price a lot. I live in Hawaii, and trucks are like gold here. I got my '04 from a craigslist ad, guy wanted $4k but due to the numerous issues and high miles (160k) I talked him down to $3k. He probably didn't even expect to get that, as the drive shaft was bent and it shook like crazy above 35 mph. After all the parts and work I put into it, I wouldn't sell it for less than $10k, but that's due to how much people here will pay for a reliable off road truck. RonD and Georgeandkira both have great advice, I would include a quick wax and possibly replacing spark plugs and air filter as well as an oil change so you can say it just had a tune-up. Thats about all the tune-uping you can do on the 4.0l sohc :)

How did the arm rest break, and what pieces of it do you still have? There is a metal hinge kit dorman sells to repair it, its like $15. Stuff like that makes a big difference to some people.

Thanks. It's the hinge that's broken, and I plan to get it fixed because it bothers me too. It just had plugs and wires, fluids changed, and I'm going clean/polish everything as soon as we get a warmer day; -15 here right now.
