well its just a facelift but i kinda like it... my first impression is much more favorible than when the 04's came out... and they brought back yellow!!! but no more edge

I can live with the new side mirrors those flares are too Nissan tho if they stuck out farther they would be cool and that huge ford badge is the back looks ridiculous. Just my opinion tho.

 

yeah they do look very nissan...

 

i guess i like it. i like the new mirrors. i sort of like the lower valence, although it looks like there's a center plast trim piece or something missing from the tow hook area.

 

I mean, did they BUY Nissan fender flares??? Geez....

And I'm beginning to wonder just how many more times they can redesign the platic grille. What does that cost, ten thousand or so in development costs? Sell ten trucks and that design endeavor is paid off. The other molds and dies for the Ranger have been paid off and have financially been in the "green" for over five years now.....


And for goodness sakes.....why can't they do something new with the exhaust?

 

Ill give my opinion when I see one like my truck. Just a bare bones kind of truck. Very little says alot to me.

I like it. I didnt think the other one up top looked bad, just more on it than I would want.

I would like the bumper to be fully painted, other than tht, it looks good. I get tired of seeing that style of steel wheel, though =/

 

Those fender flares look waaaaay too big in proportion to the rest of the truck. If it was lifted on some 33's or bigger they might fit in a little better. Two tone paint standard on the FX4's, no thank-you.

loss of chrome steel bumpers - bad
huge flares - bad (and i thought the edges were bad)
tu-tone paint - bad
square mirrors - bad

front facsia - good (first impression, better than 04+)

everything else is kinda

very disappointed...any interior pics? and did they loose the power dome hood?

 

i actually love it, i love two tone paint, and wish i had it, i just overall like it

 

Thats a very sharp truck, thats the best facelift theyve given it...it looks rugged and everything.

I'm hopin they release the Sport/EDGE in 4x2 Supercab 4-door with a 4.0L (like in 2001 when every model had everything) instead of just a 2-door. When it comes to 3.0's then I go to Brandon Ford for a Whipple treatment hehe.

Whe I meant every model it comes to these rare lineup:

1. EDGE 4-door supercab 4x2 with 4.0 SOHC
2. EDGE regular cab stepside, 4.0 SOHC with manual along with auto like Q's
3. Most reg cab models had 4.0's even long beds

From 2002 they reduce lineups every year.

I don't like the FX4 and Edge in the scan of the brochure, but I do like the white XLT.

The huge Ford emblem on the tailgate needs to be moved back where it was and made smaller.

BTW - the white XLT looks like a 4WD regular cab...that's a rare configuration. Ford just brought it back for '05 and I have only seen one in person.

 

I don't see anything that makes me say WOW ! Any new powertrains ?

As said above fender flares look nissan

Here is a thought ford, why not lift it just a hair, crank the t-bars or something and put 33's on at least the FX4L2's.

I liked Edge better then sport, every car has a "sport" model but nobody has and "edge"

I think to stay with the competition a new engine is a must I mean come on the silly honda ridgeline has 265 horsepower.(not that I would ever buy one)

 

i like it, the grill looks like the 05 f250 ones, the only thing i dont really like is the two tone paint and that plastic strip on the tailgate

 

Fugly.. Seems I got the last good looking Ranger!

 

I like the front, I'm glad to see the two-tone paint back as an option (I liked it on the gen3s,) I could live without the bolted-on looking fender flares, and the ford oval on the tailgate is just f7cking ridiculous.

Overall, I think its an improvement over the 04-05, but I'll still take the 01-03 style.

 

yeah i dont like it.. at all after 92 everythings been going down hill hehehe i like from 98 to like 2002 but thats about it...

 

WTF NO EDGE!!! EDGE is like the best name and model the Ranger had going... Sport... too common...over used... Someone on this site needs to go into the design field so this **** never happens again!!!

 

it aint that bad lookin. i do like the EDGE name better than the Sport name. be interesting what one with sonic blue color and what the interior would look like if there was any change there or not.

 

Ford is replacing Sonic Blue for 2006 with a color that looks almost identical but is slightly less purple.
