The engine is starting well and running ok until I rev it up to 3000. RPM. Then it cuts out. I drove it under 60 mph just fine but still cuts out when I got home.
Any ideas

At what speed are you trying to rev above 3000 RPM,

The truck has to be moving above a certain speed to get the engine above 3000 RPM

I wjust trying to start it after a 3 day rain/snow. And it cut out when I gave it a rev. I was afraid it would cut out on a hill.

If you were sitting still, the computer won't let the engine go above 3000 RPM, self preservation.

All engine computers have a REV limiter, when speedometer is under 5MPH or clutch pedal is down or trans is in Park or Neutral
3,000RPM is usual limit
So it could be one of these "sensors" is telling computer you are under 5MPH or in neutral

Could also be your exhaust system is plugged up, that limits RPMs

Or your fuel system is not working well, dirty fuel filter or failing fuel pump
