Hey guys, my first post, anyways i have a 2011 fx4 two months old now and today when i came outta work (im an autobody tech) i noticed i got hit and run. the driver side boxside is caved in, between the tailight and wheel and the rear bumper is twisted up . i can post pics tmrw cause its dark out now.
But my question is, is there any companies that make a tube style rear bumper, or beefed up bumper for the rangers? dont want to custom make one, rather just buy it. been looking for hours and found nothing. using this as an excuse to beef up the truck

oh and btw can you get steel tail light guards that fit the new rangers? ( like on jeeps) could only find plastic ones..

 

Try looking for steel bumpers for rangers from 2001 and up. those should mount up to your mounts without any issue.
I don't think i've ever seen any tail light guards that are steel. but someone else may have

okay thanks for the info and welcome. I dont mind fixing the box side but just dont want this **** to happen again so i want to get some more protection, and who doesnt like aftermarket modifications?

You might be able to modify an offroad bumper from a Toyota or similar small pickup.

Sorry to hear that this happened to you. I think they do make steel tail-light guards. I have seen them somewhere.

yeah haha i know people are like "wtf?" especially when they hear the part that I, yes just me myself and I, no loans or help, bought it outright with cash. but it helps when you know what you want to do in life and have always worked. i hate kids my age that are unmotivated or get hand outs, make us all look bad.

You could make your own if you have the ability... my bro-in-law is working on a set for his XJ made from 1/4" rod in sort of a spiderweb design.

Ive seen steel tail light guards around here somewhere im just not sure where. Could have been custom though

 

i could as i work on cars everyday, know plenty of fabricators and my dad is a welder. but id rather not go that route if i dont have to, rather shell out some cash and spend half an hour swapping the new one in .

 

yeah not financing was definatly smarter i think , i already have a kenwood deck with a ten inch kicker L3, kc five inch lights and swapped most of my bulbs . i wanted to pick up HID's this weekend but now i gotta fix my box .. how do you like the alpine speakers? i cant decide what brand to get for speakers.

hey guys thanks. im trying to find a place that i can get a whole box from and just swap it out. im not in a huge rush though as im not going to even worry about fixing it untill the snow goes away, because it would suck 10 times worse to fix it and have someone slide into me again (had this happen in my other car last winter) so yeah.

oh a side note i picked up HID's today, installed and wtf, one bulb flickers and the other wont even turn on. everything was done correctly . take em back ? i tried switching ballasts to see if it was ballast related and same problem .

 

Lol well im 20 and im maken payments on my 2005 ranger. Because i didnt have credit. Now of days you got to have credit to get a house and **** too..
