4.10 gears in a 2wd ranger

I have a 1997 2wd ford ranger. I looked at the sticker on my door that tells the stats of my truck and it says I have 4.10 gears. I was thinking those are pretty big gears for my ranger. I was just wondering if the stickers wrong or I actually have 4.10 gears?

its probly because you have a 4 cylinder, they need a little extra gear. thats why alot of the bigger 4 cylinder trucks on this site are geared so low.
