You can find aluminum ramps at Home Depot for (I think, we dont sell to many) about $79. I made a set from 2x10s with the ramp ends that I found at another hardware store. I used the 2x10s because thats what I needed in order to get over my wheelwells if I have to haul 4x8 sheets of plywood. My ramps fit along the side of the bed on edge and are braced apart (from sliding) with more 2x10. The whole thing creates a platform that I can easily knock down to load a bike in back. Straying a little further from your question, I next put some eye hooks and cables and made leashes for my dogs so that they can ride in back and I can leave the cap window open when I am doing some shopping.

The clearance will be an issue with a sport bike unless you have a low rider. I could barely clear a 18 inch trailer height with both my last two honda's with an 8 foot ramp. The length will have to be pretty long unless you have a ditch to back into for loading and unloading. That's the way I normally do it now since I have the 4x4 and no more trailer. Without my deep ditch in the front yard, it wouldn't get in the truck with what I have.
