4WD Dash Lights during startup

Hi,

2002 4.0 Ranger
If the 4WD Lights on the dash do not come on during starting the truck up, is that a for sure sign of the Control Module fried? All fuses are good .

Thank you for reading.

Thanks for the reply, this happened 24 hours ago so so far:

Cab fuses:
Fuse #5 - good
Fuse #9 - good
Fuse #10 - good
Fuse #11 - good
Fuse #28 - good

Engine fuses:
Fuse #13 - good

I banged on the shift motor with a rubber mallet to see if it was stuck.
Nothing happened

I checked for "clicking" of the relays in the Control Module in the passenger side kick
No clicking when switching the switch from 2, 4H, 4L (it used to click when working)

Check for dash lights when switching the switch, no dash lights come anymore
No 4WD dash lights come when starting truck.

Thanks for your help

EDIT: I should also note this was working just one month ago. Also, when this happened yesterday, switching from 2 to 4H with the switch on the dash was hard and stiff,I had to put a bit of muscle so to speak.

I pulled the 4WD switch off the dash:

I'm testing the OHMS between pins 2 and 3 on each selector position of the switch.

2WD: 3.9 k OHMS
4H: 1.1 k OHMS
4L: 0.4 k OHMS

A long shot, but it may be the lamps are burned out.

Just a heads up, I got a new Control Module today, swapped it out. And the 4 High and 4 Low lights up on the dash when starting up the truck.

4WD now works again. I had a fried Control Module.
