airbag module location

I need to replace the module or have it reset. Where is it located on the vehicle?

Ok I replaced the module with one from a salvage place but now the airbag light flashes code 46. I also replaced both air bags. Will this code stop the system from working?

The RCM is bolted to the transmission tunnel just below the center of the dash. There will be cupholders or some other trim covering the module to keep it out of view.

If it's the bezel for a manual shifter, you may find screws hidden under the very edge of the rubber bellows. If it's an automatic with just cupholders, then there may be also be screws but they should be easier to find. Probably 3 or 4 screws either way. I haven't actually worked on that part of an 05, so take this info for what it's worth.

I have one last question for you. Does the seat beat detentioner (on the button part not the belt) effect the airbag module?
