brake line clip? where does it go ?

I noticed this metal clip thing hanging down from the passenger side rear brake line. I don't know where it came from , where it goes , or if its a problem . I never noticed it before. I'm about to go on 2 week vacation with 100 or more miles off road on sat morning so a quick answer would be appreciated .

It clips around the inboard U-bolt above the axle.

I'd get that hung up quick. Mine has no hanger and I was checking things out the other night and it was starting to wear through. I taped it up really good and placed some wire loom around it and more tape. Hopefully that will hold it. My shock has a bare spot right were the line was rubbing. No slack to hang it. I may have to bungee it up to something so it doesn't rub anymore.

Were you driving on Western by Orange on Wednesday? I saw a truck that looks exactly like your avatar with a slight lift to it.

If that was you spiffy truck.

i'm in bishop now ... put a few hundred miles on easy roads . My friends arrives sunday and then we'll be hitting the rough stuff . I'll get it zip tied up for now ..

the u bolt was the only place i saw it could come from . I have the tools and stuff to do it but i'm not going to mess with it till i get home.

You don't need any tools. Just clip it around the u-bolt by hand.

I like freaked out and threw the bags out of the bed fast...then come to find out that is the emergancy brake line.. it is a metel wire inside fiber under the rubber....so i just zip tied it to the axel
