Icon5 Brake Pad Drag Reduction Clip

I has seen a Brake Pad Drag reduction clip available on Rock Auto' catalog (on-line)for my 99 Ranger 2WD front brakes. It is really a Anti-drag spring.. Fits between the tops of the inner and outer pads (steel tabs) and lightly pushes out on the pads when then brakes are released.. It is a Raybestos part , 4 for $5.50.
It sounds like a good Idea, but I don't see it listed on any other parts lists. Has anybody tried them or know if the work?

I've never used it.. and anything that promises to increase my MPG sounds like a gimmick to encourage me to buy it. But it is only $5.50.. so I'm sure it couldn't hurt to try it.
