Anti-Theft System
2004 Ranger FX4, V6...After 19 years my Anti-Theft idiot light has suddenly started blinking while the truck is parked and key is out or in OFF position. Starts fine. Hard to believe I never noticed it all these years. Could I have accidently enabled the system? Can it be disabled?
It has always blinked, or maybe the bulb was loose
Pretty much all anti-theft systems will have a blinking light with key off, it lets thieves known there is an anti-theft system or perhaps an alarm(lights and horn) protecting the vehicle
PATS(passive anti-theft system) Theft light should blink on every 2 or 3 seconds with key off, no, it won't drain the battery; computer, radio and Keyless entry draw way more power with key off
