Anybody ever painted their Ranger?

you would be looking at at least that much in equipment and materials to attempt your first pain job...and then, how good do you think your first paint job will turn out with no experience, no training, and no paint booth?
If you are just doing it for the adventure and experience, go for it. If you want professional results, pay the money and let the pro do it.

It depends what you want. You are not going to be able to do a pro job at home without a big investment and then still it takes a ton of skill, meaning even taking some classes. If you want a pro job pay the 3,500. I've rattle can painted some old trucks that looked decent and I've used a basic air compressor and an hvlp spray gun. Neither looked processional but they looked clean, and I fixed the rust issues.
