Rather than pay to reupholster the current seats in my 2001 Ford Ranger I would consider buying new seats. But I still want a middle seat. All I can find is bucket seats for aftermarket seats. Since it’s a standard cab and I got two small kids, I want to keep the middle seat option.

Have you checked the local Recycling Yards (Junk Yards) ?
Most people are looking for Bucket Seats so I'm thinking find a pic-a-part type of yard and have a look see at what is sitting around.
I think you might be surprised and you might get lucky !


p.s. The only problem is how long the seat have been there, and have they been in a closed cab or open to the weather, and did anyone decide it would be a good idea to cut up good seats. Oh ya, did anything decide to live in there !

Rangers came with bucket seats and 60/40 bench seats(3rd seat)

If you get super lucky, you may find an old Terminix fleet truck. We had one and Terminix used to special order them with full bench seats. Ours was a 2002.

What do you have now ?

As RonD stated, one of the two most common seats is the 60/40 split bench seat.
It is a bench seat but has the option of have a flip up console, which... when in the up position looks like a bench and allows for the third passenger.
When the console is in the down position, it gives the look of bucket seat with a console.
I used one in my '03 EDGE for a few years, it worked well for two adults, never had three people on it.

I would be surprised if you could not find one in the Junk Yard.
