The CEO, the Boeing guy :, has ordered serious reduction in global platforms. So, I'd expect that it will be based on an international version, like the So American config.

The Twin Cities (Minnesota) assembly plant scheduled to close in 2009 will now make Ford Ranger small pickups to the end of 2011 to meet demand.

I'm really interested in seeing a new ranger version roaming the streets eventually. Hopefully Ford will be putting out a well balanced and researched product and wont skimp out on important features due to the current market trends.

Not sure of design re: 4 door

I have a 2008 Ranger FX4 Off Road, and I priced out shortening the box from the front (moving the gas tank filler door), adding 1 foot to the rear suicide doors, roof and floor, new side glass and a bench seat with 3 seat belts. Local insurance said they would register it. Total cost around $10,000.00 cdn. I'd rather have a unique Ranger with rear suicide doors than what everyone else is driving.. JMHO

Re: 15 year old thread.

Yup, I knew.that. just seemed like a good place to post my idea. BTW, the 2022 Rangers are not a good looking vehicle. They look like every other truck on the road. At least the 2008 has some aesthetic quality and the years that design ran are now all over the place and still turn heads, mostly because mine is 15 years old and still looks great. Again, JMHO
