Attention guys Ford will build a new Ranger!

Guys, I wanted to keep y'all informed on this.....

Ford just put the word out on the street that they need some new tooling for a truck, but not an F-series. It's for the new Ranger!!! My boss and I were talking about this earlier this morning and it is confirmed that Ford is indeed looking for quotes for a new assembly line (or at least some new parts to the old one) for a 2009-2010 Ranger!!!!!!

I don't know where it will be built, I don't know anthing about the motors, but I do know for a fact that there will be a new ranger!

I don't know but I am excited as hell to see it. I have also heard about a 4 door model, but that I can not confirm...

If there is a 4 door diesel or even 4 door with a V8, sign me up now, I want the first one...lol.

i don't think they will build a 4 door U.S. version because of the Sport Trac......that would be too much competition......

i sure hope the new Rangers don't have an IRS.....that would suck for lifting...

I'll stick with the 4 door ext cab but if it gets a 2.5L Powerstroke I may have to plunge myself further into debt!

Yeah even if they just made the extended cab a little bigger that would be good, but Diesel or V8 and I will own one.

Maurice, I don't think they will put IRS on the ranger, there isn't a truck out there with it, and I don't think there will be...

2009 - 2010 is probably when I'd be looking for a new vehicle. If this Ranger comes 4 door w/ good legroom in the back, I would consider it over the Sports Trac. Diesel and all those other goodies would be a bonus.

thing is though, they are all about on road ride quality......and we all have to face it sometime that the IRS is the best on road ride quality available....

Sweet, by then my Ranger will be paid off for a year... maybe I should save up that extra money for a new one.

i think the Powerstroke they are using in Rangers overseas are the 2.5L 4 banger......but an increase of the displacement would mean more power

hopefully there will still be a 4cyl. gas would prohibably $5-$6 dollor range by then. if it looks like a baby F150 i'd get one. I have no interest in a diesel since diesel is kinda hard to find around me for some unknown reason. plus the fact that I have no patience for one. if it looks good i'll prohibably get one, since my truck will be 8-9 years old at that time, good timing for a new truck.

I would'nt be surprised if they killed of the sport trac in fsvor of a 4dr Ranger. The current sport trac does'nt seem to sell very well.
