06+ mirrors - Chromed or not?
So, stupidly, i've been convinced to spend more money on things i absolutely don't need and upgrade my '02 to '06+ mirrors.
I only have basic black non powered mirrors and can get a pair of TYC mirrors for about $44 delivered.
They'd work fine - however, it's a white truck (with silver steel wheels) and silver running boards, i wondered if spending a lot more money on the 'chromed' version of the same mirrors would be worth it, or even look alright (especially as truck has no frills)
Oh and thanks to the guide on here for the really simple dremel mod to get them onto an older truck.
Thoughts?

I'd vote either or honestly.
I went with chrome caps because my rear bumper is chrome. So there is a little chrome on the truck. I kinda wish my bumper strip was chrome and not painted white as that's chipped up... but if I knew someone that would paint the mirror caps and not charge an arm and a leg I'd probably have the mirror caps and the rear bumper body matched. I also didn't want to spray it because anything off the shelf isn't going to match the truck 100% and that's even worse to me having different shades of color on a vehicle or knowing that someone did a spray bomb job and it doesn't look OEM. I don't think chrome looks bad on white either since the headlights, trim badges...etc. If you have any silver at all on the car it will normally flow. The only thing I'm not really a fan of is really dark colors such as black with a bunch of chrome pieces on. Think Harleys... they just look tacky.
Picture for reference on mirrors. Definitely don't keep them black though. To me that looks even cheaper.

I agree with you on chrome working with white - but i have a regular rear bumper, so even less chrome generally.
Black is what it comes with and has on now, so at least it's not going to look worse - issue with spraying the new mirrors myself is that i won't be able to sand them smooth enough to not look like sprayed over rough plastic.
Issue with chromed ones is they're twice the price :( Black will probably have to suffice - unless i can find plasti dip that matches.....
Speaking of matching, the Ranger white is not a hard colour, it's just Oxford white, get a decent brand can of that and it'll match, Duplicolour etc.

Alright, thanks for clarifying.
I looked them up, lowest spec version of paint to match is powered and no heat - as i don't have power anything, it's pointless and makes them cost the same as chromed, again, twice the price of textured black.
I agree painted or chrome would look better than textured black, but i just can't justify that price increase for something i technically don't need :(
