bored with my Ranger

you guys ever get bored with your truck?

I dunno, I am getting paid pertty well right now and working non-stop. I have money to put into it, but it feels like a waste. `02 2wd xlt 3.0l feels pointless to put money into.

I think I want something completely different. What do you guys do when you get bored with your truck?or do you?

i think it is because it is a 2wd.....maybe if it were 4wd 4.0 you would enjoy it more......time for a new ride if you ask me...

^^he may be right

Trade it in, get a new F250...

then you can start over, and even if you get sick of it, you'll still have a sweet truck

Maybe you just haven't done anything with it lately so it kinda took a back burner. A new mod might rekindle something for you and the ole girl. I think an appearence change might be the thing. Something that makes it feel like a whole new look. A decent set of wheels or something. Nothing too flashy but help to make it more you and less stock looking. I really like that Island blue and would hate to see it go.

Thats not a bad thing. It should be understood that you generally don't add value when you mod it. Go too crazy and it can become un-enjoyable to even drive.

I'm 2wd and 3.0 as well. Have you got a decent set of tires and wheels? After I got my BFG's and MT's it totally changed the look of my truck and I enjoy looking at it everyday. I'm really looking forward to my first snow fall with my BFG's.

^^ Agreed, but personally I would upgrade. The 3.0 is nice and so is 2wd but 4.0 and 4wd has so much more to offer, like no more restraints to the blacktop. Or check into some other vehicle, how much do you think you could get for your rig?

Def don't want a Bigger truck, biggest I would ever go is like a midsize Colorado.

I'm tosing around the idea of a scooby or C230 kompressor.

I never use my bed anymore, the last time I used my truck box was as a redneck cooler for 110 corona's at the jimmy buffet concert. I don't go offroading, I want 4 doors for passengers. I want something with class

\/ little over half \/

I've been getting bored with mine lately too. I'm looking at Newer BMW's. Something with class. Its something alot diffirent than a lifted ranger, plus, if I do end up liking it and keeping it, its something one could grow into with a family and whatnot. Plus, BMW's are cool.

I'm kinda in the same boat, would love a 4 door- as I dont use my truck bed, dont even drive it like a truck.. my temporary cure: i've got an '06 Fusion to drive around in for this week; pretty damn peppy little car for a 4 banger, the automatic in this car is so responsive- all for free, thanks to the lady that hit my passenger's door

I wouldnt say your 93 was heavily modified to the point where you lost money when you traded it in. It was essentially a stock truck with maybe one or 2 exterior mods..

Different people look at vehicles differently.

For me, I like modding my truck, if for nothing other than I like doing things with my hands. I like building stuff, I like upgrading things to be different or better than they were before. I'm very interested in anything automotive and use my truck to learn and as a source of entertainment.

My dad, however, uses his car to get form point A to point B, and as long as it does that, he's fine with it. He could afford a nice car like a BMW 3 series, but he drives a Honda because it does what he needs it to do without anything more.

If you don't mod your truck very much and it doesn't do what you need it to do, find something that suits your needs better.

exactly...basically my thoughts.. personally I never get bored with my rig. ilove it. i might actually be getting another one in the spring for a project truck. Something to play with, that I can leave on blocks and drive the other one.. If I wanted classier, Id probably go with a sportrac..haha..thats about as classy as I get. sportrac on 35's..thats a perfect family vehicle in my opinion..four doors (you know its appealing, in that dark dark blue color..)..i won't drive anything without a bed...period. Beemers and mercedes are cool, but just not me..Its ford, and its got a bed..

my advice.. grab one of those coronas,..sit back and write an ad..sell it to a kid with just enough money and the urge to own his(or her) very first vehicle. then go pic up something fun and sleek and shiny and roll up to the clubs and pimp the beezies..
I have a dinstinct feeling that our defenitions of classy are somewhat different. But how bout a new charger..all blacked out?? could be fun eh?

hahaha, I like this post. I can relate to a lot of what you said. Sportstrac on 35's, dark blue, must have a bed = classy ...so true.

I bought my Ranger for basic transportation and reliability. I have two other cars that are projects. However, I must admit that I find myself wanting to fix up the truck now, too. Must be a disease.

what about a Sport Trac? i have looked at them a few times lately....and most recently at Scott B.'s.....they are nice...plenty of room for passangers, and still have a bed....
