Broken windshield trim letting water into my cab?

The black trim around my windshield broke some time ago and now when we get a good rain I find a pool on my passenger floor board. I can't figure out how its getting it cus isn't that trim just cosmetic and the glass is glued all the way around? Any ideas?

Its most likely coming in from a lower corner where trough around the windshield has rusted thru

The windshield sits on a ridge with a trough all the way around it, and yes it is sealed to that ridge
Trim sit in the gap between glass and body
The trough always has water sitting in its lower corners until it evaporates, so....................if the paint doesn't protect it................rust

You can pull the trim out/off and have a look in the corners, if you can clean it out enough you can seal any holes with silicone for now, but it MUST be clean and dry or silicone won't stick and seal it

BE CAREFUL!!!
Any metal tool that touches the EDGE of the windshield will cause it to crack
Tempered glass is very strong head on, its weakness is its EDGES
Use plastic tools

Might as well since the trim's broken anyway! Think I can replace it with some from a junkyard or is that something you gotta buy new to get it to work?

Older moulding can be reused but it can also be brittle and break, 1993-2011 use the same moulding so less years exposed to Sun the better, lol

New moulding is $50 at LMC Truck: https://www.lmctruck.com/1983-11-for...ld-and-molding

Windshield moulding is cosmetic, doesn't do anything except make it look better, so it's OK to remove it and still drive around
