Engine identification of a 2014 2.2L 150Hp South African built

Hi Guys,

I hear from my local mechanic that the imported Rangers to Spain from this time had an engine named Puma. Apparently it's a collaboration between Mazda and Ford. Unfortunately this engine is prone to premature wear of the pistons and needs a general overhaul; every 90,000 kilometers or 56000 miles.
Anyone out there know something about this?

Yours sincerely

Nope,

We are in North America and have never heard of that engine.
