Clicking Noise at speed - CV Joint?

Have a 2006 FX4, and for a while I've had this clicking noise that increases/decreases with speed. I've searched each tire and couldn't find any rock that is causing it (which has happened before), so I am starting to think this is a mechanical issue.

I can hear it best around 20-40 MPH and then the wind noise starts to take over. I can hear it on the highway if I drive past a barrier and the sound reflects back. The clicking just sounds like a rock stuck in the tire treads! If I turn slightly to the left or right, I can also hear the noise get louder.

Is this a CV joint issue?
