Icon5 Converting my 2004 Ranger to a 2006 Ranger

I'm in the process of converting my 2004 Ranger XLT to a 2006 Ranger XLT.
I have power mirrors and the main thing I'm worried about is the side mirrors.. Are the electrical connectors the same? I don't plan on going to the dealship and buying all new parts, so I would really like to know what's the average price on these parts. I would really like to hear from people that have put the 2006 or later parts on a 2005 or earlier Ranger.

I would really appreciate any suggestions,

Brian

What's the difference? Mirrors and lights?

You should convert it to a F150. Much more impressive

Grille, corner lights and the mirrors bolt right in as long as you swap the studs and cut off the little plastic part. Theres a write-up on it in the how-to section.

yeah, but changing your mirrors, grille and corner lights does not change the truck from a 2004 to a 2006

Thanks Trent ... You're the only one that didn't give me a smart a** answer. I get the feeling some of you guys are still in junior high.
I know that my truck will still be a 2004, but I like the little changes that were made in 2006.
I mainly wanted to know if the power mirrors still have the same electrical connections. I already know how Ford tries to make everything uncompatible after going through the whole thing with my running boards.

btw ... Trent, could you please give me the link to that write up?

LOL @ Avery
That's more like a highly modified 2004 or 2005. It's a cool truck though.

Yeah because he'd still be lacking 06+ bumpers.

BlackRanger04, there's nothing wrong with doing a few simple "upgrades" to your Ranger to make it look a bit more like a current model. It's your truck so do whatever floats your boat. When I eventually get a 4x4 Ranger, it probably won't be an 06 or newer model so I plan to do a few upgrades myself.

For example, I like the current look of the big Ford logo right smack dab in the middle of the tailgate. Eventually I'd just remove the old logo in the lower right hand corner, fill in the hole and touch the paint up, order the new logo and throw it right smack dab in the middle of the tailgate.

Some of us give a damn about how our trucks look and run and some of us would rather go mud bogging under the light of a half-full moon. Nothing wrong with either way you go about it just as long as you enjoy your Ranger.

Yeah, I get what you're sayin Rangerjunkie ... Some of us treat our Rangers like their a Lincoln Town car and some of us treat them like a Tank. (I was about to say a Hummer, but I knew I'd catch he** for that ...lol)
I'll be looking a for a Ford logo to go on the tailgate pretty soon. Did Ford drill holes in the tailgate for the logo, or is it glued on?

There are mounting pins behind the Ford logo on the tailgate

Yeah, I kinda though there would be mounting pins ... but would it be wrong to use some kind of adhesive to attach it to the tailgate? And if so, what would be the best stuff to use?

The 06 emblem has adhesive and pins. When I put mine on I just cut off the pins and am using the factory adhesive. It might as well be welded on there as it isn't budging any.

Just use double sided 3M molding tape, it's very strong
