crank shaft problems.....
Just put a new short block engine in my 1989 2.3 liter Ford Ranger. All new plugs and wires. Starts good, idles good but has no power. Has a miss in it. Put new crank shaft censer in but don't know if I have it set right. Any ideas?
Won't start at all if CKP(crank position) sensor is not working.
I would check timing belt marks one more time, 1 tooth off and compression drops, so power drops.
'89 should be distributor"less", so spark timing can not be adjusted.
For the miss, triple check spark plug wires and firing order:
coils
3 1
2 4
4 2
1 3
Front

Timing is correct on the belt lost my tool to adjust the crankshaft sensor and don't no what kind of gap to put between the sensor and the crankshaft. Set it at .1 thousand off the crank it's getting better just not good enough
