Welcome to the forum

3rd party Cruise Control is not too hard to install

Depends on the year of the Ranger of course
Manual or automatic trans can matter as well

Factory Cruise would be harder because you need to swap steering wheels and clocksprings, but for sure doable

3rd party units have the actuator that needs to be mounted in the engine bay, it has the throttle cable that attaches/clamps to current throttle cable/ linkage
It also needs a Vacuum line hooked up
The vacuum is used to pull the cable which holds the throttle open

The controller switch is inside the cab of course, it needs to be mounted, and connected to brake switch and clutch switch(if manual trans), and also 12v and ground
Then you need a speed signal, depends on year of Ranger
Most Ranger 1986 and up have some form of VSS(vehicle speed sensor)
You need to tap into that signal

Then run controller wires thru firewall to the actuator
