Need some help pls, 2006 ranger, defrost isn't working, after inspection, the top vacuum motor which controls defrost, it pushes against a white cam, that cam is coming off the vent housing mount it sits in, is there a screw that secures it from buckling and prevents it from falling out, or is that cam connected solid and it is cracked and sort of just hanging on. Side note I found a screw when I changed mats, thought I better save it, and lost it, tried sticking lots of other screws but none wanted to thread in the center of that white part. Help is appreciated the part way up there, that is white is pushing off under pressure, and no defrost vacuum, pnly full front vents what attaches that piece at the end of the vacuum motor that rotates a door inside I believe
Just FYI, Defrost is the Default setting for all vent motors, so No Vacuum at any vent motor = Defrost air direction
So no vacuum motor needs to move for full Defrost air flow
The white vacuum line is for Fresh air vent(no vacuum, NV) or recirculated air V(vacuum), white line also splits and goes into engine bay as a Grey line, to heater by-pass valve
Red line is the Defrost vent NV, Panel V
Yellow and Blue lines are for panel and floor, PV(partial vacuum) and V, NV defrost
Sorry I can't help with vent flap attachment to vacuum motor
Thank you, but seems to be working fine other than not working. I have heat, AC to floor and vents when needed, just not defrost- Here in Canada defrost is going to become important.
