I've only been able to find 4.0s with an auto tranny, does anyone know if they made them with a 5 speed stick??

thus my delima, I like the single cabs... I noticed most of you with the 4.0 stick are 4x4's, is it in 2wd as well?

The Holy Grail in the Ranger world is the following : 01-03 2wd Reg cab 4.0L 5spd manual. For me, in XL form.

I have a manual with my 4.0. Only way to go imo.

You can find 3.0L/5spd manual reg cabs......edges come stock like that.

my s/c is a 4.0 i know of a few std cab 2wd's with 4.0/5 spd. thay have like a 3.45 or 3.08 rear end ratio though. i like the balance of the 3.73 ratio. good power and reasonable mileage. thats with stock 235/75-15 tires. bigger tires, need lower gears of course.

2001 was the only year you could get the 4.0 SOHC in a regular cab, finding one of those with a 5 speed will only make it that much harder. If your looking for the 4.0 in an older truck you shouldn't have too much trouble finding one with a regular cab 5 speed. If your looking 2002 and up you won't find one in a regular cab at all.

Well, I've been looking for a 99 or 2000 4.0 with 5-speed, 2 wheel drive and it's almost impossible to find one for sale.

According to '08 dealer option list......an 2wd XL reg cab can be had with a 4.0L and 5spd manual...
