Do we have a used ranger shortage?

I have seriously been considering getting another ranger. I miss my old one everyday and its been over a year since I got rid of her. I have been looking for a low mileage (all stock) ranger with 4wd, cruise and an automatic but it seems almost impossible to find one. The ones I have looked at are either super low mileage 08's that are too much $$, or a few years old and look beat. Anyone else noticing this in other parts of the country or is it just me in Michigan?

I have been looking for this combo for quite a while

Low miles (30kish) 4x4, 4.0, Power Windows, Power Locks, 5 spd, Extended or Reg Cab, Rear sliding window, Fender Flares (non splash bed) in gunmetal gray, bright red, or white.

It's a tough find and I keep seeing them with the stepside bed and sonic blue. Is that an option from Ford? I would like the all power, 4.0, stepside, Sonic Blue, and manual 5spd package?

See, my last truck was a 2wd manual Edge. I loved it but it was bad in the snow and I got tired of the slave going out. I did love the way it pulled though, its so much nicer towing with a stick IMO. Like I said, I will find one eventually but no luck yet. I really want a new one but trying to justify how much they have gone up in price in the past few years is tough.

It took me about 3-4 weeks to find my Ranger. One place I drove about 30 miles to see a nice 2001 red one for $5,000, and it was sold by the time I got there, then they tried selling me a '92 Ranger for $5,000 I walked out. Checked many other dealers with no luck. Then I went to an area that has about 20 dealers in the same area. I checked them all but didn't find anything that was acceptable. Many small trucks were worn out pieces of junk with a high price tag. Then I came across mine at the last dealership I was going to check out. The salesman there said he wanted to show me a 2003 ranger XLT with 31,000 miles on it. I took it for a test drive and the dealer found me financing, so I went ahead and bought it.

Nice rangers around here in Ohio can be hard to find. So when you see one you like, you better jump on it, before it gets sold to somebody else.

Mine is not for sale. I'm planning on keeping it for many years.

I was looking for my truck for a solid 4 months before I found mine. It is a 98, black 5 spd 4.0 4x4 with 82,000 km on the clock, and it was only $5500. I wasn't in a rush, so I kept looking and looking till I found this beast.

Around here, there are a limited amount of 4cyls regardless the year. There are too many hippys here lol.
