01 4.0 4x4 has no power.after stopping at at light .will not reve past 2000 rpms or run faster than 25 mph . the od light is flashing ck oil tranny fluid all ok truck not running hot all gauges are normal any ideals .have been told tranny fuel pump motor need a ideal of where to start

 

Do you have a code reader? If so have you plugged it in to see if any codes come up?

ford dealer say both cats stopped up fuel pump needs to be replaced total cost 1550.00 total for cats 900.00 can you buy used cats

 

You have a tranny problem and you need to have a transmission shop look at it. The Ford dealer is going to rip you off!

 

ford is lying.

take it to a trans shop first. you can do a fuel pump for cheap, and now is a great time to put an exhaust on the truck if that truly is the problem.


sounds like your trans is in limp mode.

 

i dont see how your cats would get clogged if your fuel pump isnt working...maybe im missing something

Ford called this am .said they had some bad news seems the clips that hold the fuel lines to the tank broke when they removed the bed said they had to be broke before so they now want me to pay 500.00 to replace the lines

 

Do you mean how the fuel lines attach to the fuel pump on top of the tank? If so, you can use zip ties, that's what I did after I broke one of mine and getting the tip from this website. Tell them you will not be paying for it since they broke on them! They are just plastic clips that get brittle over time. They will tell you you need to replace the fuel line. You can get two fuel pumps for $500. They are trying to screw you. Tell them you are going to post their name on this website and tell everyone how unhappy you are with this dealership.

 

called Ford filed a complaint with them was told its a dealer issue.

 

found one at wrecking yard 65.00 ford says might be ok they claiming saftey issue will have to buy part to see

they broke it, they have to replace it, not you!

 

This is why i dont let anybody touch my truck, Im sorry to hear about your troubles man. I hope you get it worked out.
