I had one on my Bronco. If it can pull out a full size truck, it will work on your Ranger. I attached the hook to the frame and cut a notch in the bumper trim to give access to it. It worked well, I never had any problems with it.

You can't see the hook in this photo, but you can see the shackle that was attached to it when I was pulled out:



If you decide to get one (or more) of these, get the black ones, they are stronger than the chrome ones, due to not going through the chroming process.

Make sure to get the S/S Clips that bolt-on with the hooks and hold the strap/rope/chain/whatever in place.

yep those are the same hooks people slap on jeeps that dont come with them

 

ive gotton a few factory tow hooks from the salvage yard that came off the front end of S10 blazers, a S10 blazer is about 5,000 pounds, and i got 2 hooks for $5. going to mount them to the front of my grille guard.
