Duratec vs race
Duratec vs race
Someone I know won't stop and keeps saying that a 2.5 Lima with 3.73 open diff 5 speed manual and 3.73 2011 4l crew cab could beat my 2002 2.3 Dohc 4.10 diff LSD all have p235 75 r15 good year wranglers, the 2.3 Dohc has ignition timing completely remapped and muffler delete, ignition I tuned for that,
In a 0-75 or in his case 15mph roll to 75 what truck will win, I will ring my truck all the way to 7300 rpm or 38 mph in 1st gear

The 2.3 Dohc is turbo make more torque and HP then all the motors, they don't wanna man up.
They wanted to know here in the forums Wich is theretically better, I slam shift mine when racing though I shouldn't like a sequential
2.3l/2.5l SOHC Lima engine was designed in 1973, and first used in 1974 Pinto
Mazda L engine, the 2.3l DOHC Duratec, was designed in 2000 and first used in 2001, 26 years later.......................
Not sure why there would be any reasonable expectation for the Lima to keep up with the later model engine with same displacement

The other guy also thinks his crew cab 4L sohc 2011 has a better chance when he has a 3.73 diff and heavy aluminum camper shell, and sport 4x4 package Wich is more weight, my ranger before the turbo was crew cab 4.10 8.8 lsd and 2wd and 2.3 dohc
The 4.0l SOHC with 91 or 93 octane(207HP) would do better than the NA 2.3l DOHC Duratec(145HP)
If you added a turbo to the DOHC 4cyl(240HP) then it would edge out the 4.0l
2.3l Ecoboost pushes 270HP
Ratios are too close to matter much after the first 100yards or so, IMO

Im using a modified Mazda 6 disi turbo map making 266HP and 293 ft lbs torque, I know someone with a 2.3 duratec but 4.56 diff and just a cold air in and straight pipe so we'll race that and the 4.0 and let you guys know
