whats the difference between an EDGE and an xlt. Just the front and rear painted bumpers? if i had a 01+ XLT could i convert it to a edge? thanks guys. im looking at an xlt but like the edge look alot better.

 

If your are comparing a 2wd version then the XLT has a coil spring a-arm front suspension while the Edge has a torsion bar setup. Both 4x4s have the same setup. A 2wd Edge also is lifted slightly to 4x4 height. Edges come with a rubber floor mat as opposed to carpet in an XLT. There are several other minor differences also but just about interior trim. If you wanted to make an XLT look like an Edge, you'd need the front and rear bumpers painted, a color matched lower valance with fog light openings, and a new honeycomb grille peice.

 

yeah im not too worried about the interior. i found a 2001 XLT for a good deal but i really have been looking for an edge. i just like the look of the different front bumper. thanks

 

Thats easy enough to swap out, should be no problem.

 

The "powerdome" hood is also on the edge too.
