Electric window switch
Electric window switch
Hi I’m new to this forum so bare with me! I have a 06 ford ranger 4x2 and the electric window has stopped working!now the drivers regulator has gone and had the switch disconnected to save accidentally pressing the button, now I’ve plugged back in to work just the passenger as I can’t cope with the heat the switch works fine on passenger side but nothing from the drivers side.i can hear a click like it wants to work but nothing when I took door card off there was a burnt out earth wire so fixed that and still nothing any ideas any help please going out of my mind
Welcome to the forum
UK..............so drivers side is on the right
Have you tried applying 12v and ground directly to the window motor?
To see if its working?
There is a "one touch" relay in the Cab fuse box, that powers the drivers side window, so it wouldn't effect passenger side
May want to check that relay
EDIT
Re-read you post and I think I missed what you were saying
Passenger side switch works for passenger side window, but drivers side Master doesn't work for passenger side
There are only 2 wires between these two switches
The passenger side door switch has its own 12v wire, but gets its Ground from Master switch wires
The Master switch also needs 12v and ground on its passenger switch, so you need to test for that
When you press the UP button on Master switch its sends 12v on one wire and Ground on the other wire to the passenger side window motor
When you press DOWN it just reverses the 12v and ground so motor turns the other way
If Master is not working for passenger side either its missing the 12v or the ground at the Master
In 2006 it should be a white/yellow and a tan/blue wire that runs between the two switches
